Engineer Week is here! What will you create?

We are excited to start the third week with some fun Engineering activities! This week, you are an engineer.

Activity One

Build a Boat that Floats:

Using materials you find at home, you will create a boat or ship that floats.

*Note: You may use Legos or building bricks.





Watch the videos below for some great ideas to get your Engineering mind flowing.



Possible supplies from around your home:

  • Paper

  • Cardboard

  • Popsicle sticks

  • Craft sticks

  • Empty small plastic containers

  • Empty soda bottles

  • Rubber bands

  • Bottle caps

Once you are done, add your masterpiece to the Show Your Creation section.




Activity Two

Can you make your airplane fly?

Using materials you find at home, create an airplane with an airport take-off lane. As an extra challenge, make an airplane that can “fly.”

Activity Three

Build the Hubble Space Telescope:

Join us on the virtual campus on June 28th. You will build a model of the Hubble Space Telescope. PK-5 Students will meet at 1 pm EST, and 6-12 Students will meet at 2:30 pm EST.




Supplies:

  • Toilet paper roll

  • Plastic straw

  • Tin foil

  • Glue stick

  • Paper


Once you are done, add your masterpiece to the Show Your Masterpiece section.
