Tech Week is here!

We are excited to start the fifth week with some fun Tech activities! This week students will be able to create a cardboard water dispenser and a cardboard hydraulic-powered robotic arm and participate in Tech Club.

Activity One

Water Dispenser:

You will be able to create your very own cardboard water dispenser. We have provided a video below with step-by-step instructions. We recommend watching the video before you start the project.

Materials:

  • Cardboard

  • Glue

  • An empty bottle with a cap

  • A small accordion straw

  • Construction paper

  • Small pieces of cardboard paper

  • Thumb tacks

  • Water


Once you have completed your creation, upload it to our Show Your Creation section.




Activity Two

Robotic Arm:

You will create a hydraulic-powered robotic arm from cardboard. We have provided a video below with step-by-step instructions. We recommend watching the video before you start the project.


Materials:

  • Cardboard

  • Eight syringes with rubber pistons

  • Old battery

  • Four pipes

  • Thick popsicle sticks

  • Glue

  • Hard and long toothpicks

  • Tie wraps

  • Ruler

  • Two small pieces of metal

  • Scissors

  • Food coloring

  • Water



Once you have completed your creation, upload it to our Show Your Creation section.





Activity Three

Tech Club:

Join us on the virtual campus on July 19th. You will build a model car.

PK-5 Students will meet at 1 pm EST, and 6-12 Students will meet at 2:30 pm EST.
